WHAT IS JMS?

JADAM Microbial Solution (JMS) is a solution created by allowing microbes to multiply in nutrient-rich water.

BENEFITS OF USING JADAM MICROBIAL SOLUTION (JMS):

  • Increase microbe activity in the soil
  • Reelevates soil compaction
  • keeps negative organisms from overpopulating

HOW IS JADAM MICROBIAL SOLUTION (JMS) MADE?

JADAM Microbial Solution (JMS) is made through the process of fermentation. To propagate these microbes takes 2-3 days.

Getting Started:

You will want to locate leaf mold or mycelium. You probably have this on your property and have never even realized it. Leaf mold can be found un piles of leaves or sticks that have been sitting for a few weeks or months. You will notice a white powdery substance on the leaves. That’s Leaf mold!

Materials:

5 Gallon Bucket w/ 4 Gallons of water, 15 Grams Sea Salt, 2-3 Cooked Potatoes, Cheese Cloth or sock, Zip/Cable Ties, stick (long enough to sit across the top of the bucket), Garbage Bag (non scented), Leaf Mold

Preparing Your Water:

Collect 4 gallons of water in your 5 Gallon bucket. Use non-chlorinated water. It’s best to use Rain or well water. If your only option is city water. Fill your bucket and let it sit out 24 hours before starting your JMS to de-chlorinate.

Mixing with Salt:

Pour 15 grams of sea salt into your 5 gallon bucket. This will help to replace any minerals in the water.

Adding in your Potatoes and Leaf Mold:

Gather your cheese cloth, or sock. Place 2-3 potatoes in one cheesecloth, wrapping and placing a zip tie to secure the potatoes inside the sack. Repeat this same process for your leaf mold in the other cheese cloth. Using a stick across the top of your 5 Gallon bucket, hand both sacks into the water and securely fasten them using zip ties to the stick. Massage the leaf mold and potatoes, clouding the water with their contents. Place the garbage bag over the entire bucket. Store in dark, semi-warm place. 70-80 degrees would be perfect.

Bubbling bubbles:

You will notice after 24-48 that the contents of the bucket is starting to form bubbles. This means it is propagating microorganisms, and is ready to use.

Extracting the JADAM MICROBIAL SOLUTION (JMS)

Strain your newly created JADAM Microbial Solution (JMS) into a new 5 gallon bucket through a strainer.

DIRECTIONS

JADAM Microbial Solution (JMS) should be diluted with water (1:20 ratio). Apply JMS to your planting areas as a drench soak. You are trying to drive the newly formed microbes deep into the soil where they can continue to propagate.

WHAT IS JADAM?

JADAM Organic Farming is a combination of traditional natural farming principles, practices, and modern scientific innovations. It promotes low-cost alternative techniques to industrial agriculture and remains updated by a group of organic farmers; headed by Mr. Youngsang Cho.

WHAT IS KNF?

Korean Natural Farming (KNF) is a sustainable system developed by Master Han Kyu Cho of the Janong Natural Farming Institute in South Korea, based on generations of sustainable farming methods practiced in Japan, China, and Korea. KNF optimizes the production of plants or livestock through farming methods. Korean Natural Farming methods maintain a balance in nutrient input and output. This practice minimizes any detrimental effects on the environment. The balance is maintained by encouraging the growth of naturally occurring indigenous microorganisms (IMO), which in turn produce nutrients that are used in the production of crops and livestock. Virtually all of the inputs used in KNF, as compared to those used in conventional agricultural practices, are available locally at a fraction of the cost of imported feeds, composts, and fertilizers. Cultivation of IMO was covered in a previous publication (Park and DuPonte 2008).
